- 3,000 customers already rebooked -
Canadian Affair, the UK’s largest tour operator to Canada, is to operate additional flights to and from Canada to help passengers left stranded by the collapse of Zoom Airlines, which suspended operations yesterday (Thursday).
The tour operator has already managed to rebook more than 3,000 passengers.
Canadian Affair has already scheduled an extra flight for next week:
-
Monday 1st September (next week) from Toronto to London
- Tuesday 2nd September from London to Toronto.
Further flights will be added during the course of the day.
Further details will be released shortly.
Kathryn Munro, Communication & Marketing Director, Canadian Affair said:
“The collapse of an airline at the end of August, ahead of the busiest weekend of the year, is unprecedented and terribly sad for the passengers – especially those looking to return from their holidays. We have done everything possible in the past 24 hours to assist and re-book stranded passengers, plus those with holidays approaching in the coming days and weeks.
“With the support of our parent company, Air Transat, we will be adding to our schedule on Monday and Tuesday, and further flights later in the week. More than 3,000 Zoom passengers have already been rebooked. Our call centres stayed open late into the night and we have extra staff for the weekend and the coming week to ensure we continue to assist all customers.”
Canadian Affair said it not only had near-full capacity carryings at present but also strong forward bookings on its 65 direct, non-stop weekly services from 8 Canadian cities: Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Fredericton and Halifax to 11 UK and Ireland departure points: London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, Exeter, Newcastle, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Belfast, Shannon and Dublin.
Added Mrs Munro: "Our own business has been performing strongly this year and after a robust summer we expect to continue to perform well for the remainder of the year and thereon. We have the best leisure product on the market with the lowest fares guaranteed and that is reflected in the support we receive from customers – as our record demonstrates."
Canadian Affair has a team of expert sales agents that tailor-make every holiday with their wide range of holiday products.
