In the Air with Canadian Affair

Air Transat

We are firmly committed to providing the highest levels of service, comfort and enjoyment to all of our destinations.

With flying time of just over 6 hours to eastern Canada and 9 hours to western Canada our medium/long haul flights provide an experience that will only enhance your holiday.

With our airline partners Air Transat and WestJet, we assure you of the very best in flight experience.

In the air you'll have as standard:

  • Outbound flights include a complimentary hot meal with glass of wine and afternoon tea;
  • Complimentary water & soft drinks during the flight.
  • In-flight bar and snack service for purchase throughout the flight.
  • Priority boarding for children, passengers requiring assistance and Club Class Passengers.
  • In-flight magazine and in-flight movies and TV (including children's programmes).
  • Children's activity pack.
  • Duty free shopping.

Earphones for listening to the in flight entertainment are sold on board, keep them and re-use them for your flight on your return!

Make sure you let our reservation agents know if you have any dietary requirements when you book your flight, or that you complete the online information at the time of booking, so that we can request the right meal for you. If you have not told us in advance, we will have assumed that you don’t have any special food requirements, as the airlines do not carry spare special meals.

WestJet

WestJet

On internal flight with WestJet you'll be able to enjoy complimentary coffee, soft drinks and snacks (cookies, snack mix) served on all flights. WestJet does not provide a full meal service. You can purchase food on all non-stop flights over one hour and 40 minutes. Guests are also welcome to bring their own food onboard, and although alcohol can be brought onboard, it cannot be consumed; that's the law!
On all flights that offer live satellite television or you can bring your own headset or buy a set for a nominal fee.

In-Flight Entertainment

The in flight entertainment changes each month through the season, and the entertainment includes recent movies, short programmes and a selection of audio channels. This selection is suitable for a wide range of age groups and interests.

Passengers will have at least one recent film and a selection short programmes depending on the duration of the flight along with a selection audio channels to personally select from.

Passengers are allowed to use hand-held games machines such as PSPs, Gameboys etc, as well as use laptop computers and listen to portable music systems such as iPods and portable CD players, as well as watching their own portable DVD systems with earphones.

The crew will advise when these portable devices are not to be used (such as during take-off and landing) and we would ask that the volume does not disturb surrounding passengers.

Our flight crews are dedicated to providing the very best of customer service. We like to know that you have enjoyed your flight so on your return journey take a few minutes and complete our comment card so that we can continue to achieve the highest standards.

Cashless onboard

Air Transat has announced that, as of November 1, 2010, it will no longer accept cash for onboard transactions. Passengers will be required to use a credit card for all their purchases, such as snacks and beverages, duty free items, comfort kits, and so on.

This decision was made to enhance the customer experience, as it will speed up service and give the cabin crew more time to spend with our passengers. The initiative will also facilitate onboard transactions and provide better sales and inventory control, while allowing customers to conserve cash for other uses, such as ground transportation.

Going cashless makes sense in today's technology-friendly environment and has been deployed with great success on an increasing number of airlines, namely Air Canada. It should be noted that, unlike many other airlines, Air Transat offers complimentary food and beverages on most of our routes. In addition, customers are encouraged to pre-order duty free via our website. These factors significantly reduce the risk of inconvenience for passengers not having a credit card onboard. Air Transat is working on alternative payment options for these special cases.
